Assistant Facilities Surveyor
Facilities Department
Job Summary
The position reports directly to the Facilities Administration team head of the Facilities Department or as assigned.
The Assistant Facilities Surveyor will assist his/her supervisor in the administration of facilities of the organisation including both hard and soft services. Major duties include the followings:
- Assist in management and administration of facilities in the organisation for hard service maintenance, soft service operation and capital improvement works;
- Assist in tendering and quotation seeking including preparation of the tender documents and obtaining quotes from suppliers and contractors;
- Assist in monitoring and supervision of the performance of contractors in terms of progress of site works, controlling of works materials and workmanships, and follow up defects and outstanding works
- Carry out routine periodic inspections of the building services installations, prepare and submit inspection and progress reports;
- Perform periodic stock-taking and prepare materials consumption report;
- Update and monitor records of various systems, e.g. water storage system, slope information system, wetland sewage conveyance system, power consumption and failure alarm system, water sterilization system and etc.;
- Update maintenance and/ or alteration records of all building, geotechnical work/ installations;
- Assist in water sampling and supervision of the contractor’s work;
- Prepare simple CAD drawings.
- Assist in monitoring all environmental, health and safety aspects of the contractors works and report all non-compliance of safety procedures immediately to the seniors within the Facilities department and record this in the appropriate register;
- Work according to duty roster and attend emergency call, if required;
- Perform any other duties as required to facilitate the operation of the organisation’s facilities and related projects;
- Other duties as directed by direct supervisor or Head of the Facilities Department
Requirements
- Commitment to the mission, vision and values of the organisation;
- Mature, self-motivated and be able to work under pressure;
- Open minded and recognizes the validity of all spiritual paths.
- Higher Diploma in facilities related field such as facilities management, building studies, building surveying, architecture, construction, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, building services engineering
- Three years working experience in facilities or property management related field, shorter experience could be considered for candidates possessing bachelor or master degrees;
- Experience in coordination between inhouse departments, consultants, and contractors;
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time-management skills;
- Knowledge in construction procedures, details, materials and project management;
- Knowledge and experience in using AutoCAD and MS Office software, knowledge of using BIM will be advantageous but not a must;
- Knowledge in quality, environmental, health and safety standards;
- Good command in English and Cantonese both written an colloquial;
- Holder of driving licence class 1 & 2 preferred;
- Willing and fit for outdoor duties.
