About the Role:
A leading organization is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Environmental Program Specialist to join its sustainability-focused team in Dubai. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental programs that align with both local regulatory standards and international sustainability frameworks.
To excel in this position, the ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of environmental science, strong project management skills, and a results-driven mindset. By leveraging these strengths, they will help deliver impactful sustainability initiatives across various sectors, driving measurable progress toward the organization’s environmental goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and oversee environmental and sustainability programs in line with UAE environmental regulations and global best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance using key metrics and reporting tools to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and contribute to sustainability reporting, including ESG disclosures and carbon footprint evaluations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote sustainability awareness and integrate environmentally responsible practices.
- Support the development of educational materials, workshops, and communication strategies to engage employees and partners.
- Assist in preparing documentation for regulatory compliance and certification (e.g., ISO 14001, LEED, Estidama).
- Stay updated with regional and international environmental policies, trends, and innovations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in environmental program management, preferably within the UAE or GCC.
- Strong knowledge of UAE environmental regulations, sustainability frameworks (e.g., UN SDGs, GRI, CDP), and green building standards.
- Proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and project coordination.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
