Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and driven Sustainability Data Analyst based in Hong Kong to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting sustainability-related data to support our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. Your insights will help the company make data-driven decisions to reduce its environmental impact by identifying trends, measuring key sustainability metrics, and improving operational efficiency. Additionally, you will play a key role in aligning our sustainability initiatives with local and global standards, ensuring that we enhance our environmental strategies and achieve measurable, long-term sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection & Management: Gather and manage sustainability-related data, including energy consumption, waste generation, water usage, carbon emissions, and resource efficiency across various business units in Hong Kong.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze and interpret large datasets to identify key sustainability trends, insights, and areas of improvement. Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Sustainability Metrics & KPIs: Monitor the company’s sustainability performance against established goals such as carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and waste minimization. Develop and update Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to sustainability.
- ESG Reporting & Compliance: Assist in preparing annual ESG reports, ensuring compliance with both local Hong Kong regulations and international sustainability standards (e.g., GRI, CDP, TCFD). Support transparency in sustainability performance and provide data for regulatory and investor reporting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams in operations, supply chain, finance, and marketing to integrate sustainability data into business processes. Collaborate on projects that improve sustainability performance across the organization.
- Insights & Recommendations: Provide actionable insights and data-driven recommendations to improve operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Help develop sustainability strategies that align with corporate objectives.
- Automation & Data Tools: Use data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Python, or R) to automate data collection and reporting processes, improving data accuracy and accessibility.
- Market and Regulatory Trends: Stay up to date on sustainability trends, environmental policies, and regulations in Hong Kong and globally. Ensure that the company’s sustainability practices align with local standards, including Hong Kong’s environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably with a focus on sustainability, ESG, or environmental data analysis.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, R, or Python. Experience with database management or automation is a plus.
- Sustainability Knowledge: Familiarity with sustainability metrics, ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, TCFD), and environmental regulations, especially in the Hong Kong context.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly present complex data and analysis to various stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with the ability to manage and interpret large, complex datasets and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to identify trends and provide actionable solutions for sustainability challenges.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of sustainability reporting and environmental regulations specific to Hong Kong.
- Experience with sustainability tools and platforms specific to the Asia-Pacific region.
- Familiarity with environmental modeling or advanced analytics techniques.
