Sustainability Project Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Project Manager to join our team in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will lead and manage sustainability initiatives, ensuring the successful execution of projects that drive environmental, social, and economic sustainability. This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in project management and a passion for sustainability, along with the ability to collaborate across various sectors to promote sustainable practices within the organization and the local community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management & Execution

   • First, lead and manage sustainability projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
   • Additionally, coordinate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
   • Finally, track project progress, address challenges, and provide recommendations for improvements as needed.

2. Sustainability Strategy Development

   • Develop and implement sustainability strategies and initiatives that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
   • In addition, identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and improve operational efficiency across areas such as energy, waste, water, and carbon emissions.
   • Lastly, monitor and assess the progress of sustainability goals, ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

   • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including government agencies, non-profits, and local community groups, to advance sustainability efforts.
   • Additionally, collaborate with internal teams across departments (e.g., operations, marketing, HR) to integrate sustainability initiatives into daily operations.
   • Finally, represent the organization in sustainability forums, conferences, and community outreach programs, advocating for our sustainability goals.

4. Reporting & Documentation

   • Prepare regular reports on project outcomes, sustainability metrics, and progress towards goals for senior management and stakeholders.
   • In addition, document all project details, including timelines, budgets, risks, and mitigation strategies, to ensure thorough record-keeping and accountability.
   • Lastly, ensure compliance with local environmental regulations and sustainability standards, maintaining alignment with industry best practices.

5. Training & Awareness

   • Conduct internal training and workshops to promote sustainability awareness and practices across the organization.
   • Additionally, encourage employee engagement in sustainability initiatives and foster a culture of environmental responsibility.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sustainability project management, environmental consulting, or a related field.
• Strong project management skills with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects.
• Knowledge of sustainability best practices, environmental regulations, and green certifications.
• Proficiency in sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, ESG) and data analysis.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
