Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and driven Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing, executing, and managing community programs that foster meaningful relationships and enhance our organization’s presence within the local community. As the primary point of contact for community partners, the Community Engagement Coordinator will also serve as a liaison between our organization and various local stakeholders, ensuring our initiatives are both impactful and aligned with the needs of the community. This position requires a dynamic individual who is deeply committed to social impact, strong in relationship-building, and able to communicate effectively across diverse community groups.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Community Program Management

    • Design, plan, and implement community-based initiatives to engage local residents, organizations, and stakeholders, ensuring that each initiative aligns with the organization’s mission and goals.
    • In addition, manage the day-to-day execution of community outreach programs and campaigns, overseeing all aspects of program delivery to ensure timely and effective implementation.
    • Furthermore, coordinate and execute events, workshops, forums, and volunteer opportunities that provide value to the community while strengthening our organization’s relationships with local partners.
    • Lastly, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community programs, using feedback and data to propose improvements and continuously enhance the impact of our initiatives.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with local leaders, community groups, non-profits, schools, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring ongoing collaboration and support for community initiatives.
    • In addition, represent the organization in community meetings, networking events, and public forums, advocating for our mission and strengthening our presence within the local community.
    • Furthermore, serve as the primary point of contact for community partners, addressing inquiries, feedback, and concerns promptly, and fostering an open line of communication to nurture long-term partnerships.
  3. Community Outreach and Communication

    • Develop and distribute communication materials such as newsletters, flyers, and social media content to keep the community informed.
    • In addition, use social media platforms and local media to promote programs, events, and initiatives.
    • Lastly, collaborate with marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging and visibility across digital and offline channels.
  4. Volunteer Coordination

    • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for various community outreach activities, ensuring they are equipped to contribute effectively.
    • Additionally, organize volunteer schedules and ensure the efficient deployment of volunteers at events or programs.
    • Lastly, foster a positive and inclusive environment, ensuring volunteers have a rewarding and meaningful experience.
  5.  Cultural Awareness & Sensitivity

    • Create inclusive opportunities that cater to a variety of community members, including marginalized or underrepresented groups.
    • Furthermore, ensure all community engagement activities are culturally relevant and sensitive to Hong Kong’s diverse population.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or public relations, ideally in Hong Kong or a similar multicultural environment.
  • Language: Proficiency in Cantonese and English is required; knowledge of Mandarin is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a variety of community members.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience in event planning, volunteer coordination, and community relations.
    • Social media and digital marketing experience.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM tools is an advantage.
