Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sustainable Mobility Specialist to join our team in Dubai. In this role, you will focus on developing and implementing sustainable transport solutions to improve urban mobility, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance the accessibility and efficiency of transportation systems across the city. To achieve this, you will work with a variety of stakeholders, including government bodies, urban planners, transportation authorities, and private sector partners. Through these collaborations, the successful candidate will help deliver innovative and eco-friendly transportation options for Dubai’s residents and visitors, contributing to the city’s vision for a sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies and plans to promote sustainable transportation modes, including public transit, cycling, walking, and shared mobility systems. This will help improve urban mobility and reduce environmental impact.
- Work closely with government agencies, urban planners, and developers to integrate sustainable mobility solutions into urban infrastructure projects. By doing so, these solutions will become part of Dubai’s long-term development.
- Carry out transportation demand studies, environmental impact assessments, and feasibility analyses to identify opportunities for improving urban mobility sustainability. This research will guide the development of eco-friendly transport solutions.
- Advocate for the development of pedestrian and cycling-friendly infrastructure, including bike lanes, pedestrian pathways, and shared mobility services. In turn, this will promote healthier, greener commuting options for residents.
- Advise on the adoption of innovative transport technologies, such as electric vehicles (EVs), autonomous vehicles, and micro-mobility services. By doing this, you’ll help enhance the efficiency and sustainability of Dubai’s transport network.
- Contribute to the creation of policies and regulations that support sustainable mobility, including incentives for low-emission vehicles and public transit. This will encourage wider adoption of green transport options.
- Stay up-to-date on global trends, innovations, and best practices in sustainable mobility. By integrating these insights, you’ll ensure Dubai’s transportation solutions remain innovative and forward-thinking.
- Develop and implement public outreach programs to encourage the adoption of sustainable transport options. This will raise awareness and inspire more people to choose eco-friendly mobility.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and proposals for stakeholders, including city officials and environmental agencies. These materials will help inform key decisions and secure support for projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in urban mobility planning, sustainable transport solutions, or related fields.
- In-depth knowledge of sustainable transportation systems, active mobility, and emerging technologies such as electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, and shared mobility services.
- Proficiency in transportation modeling software, GIS tools, and data analysis related to urban mobility and environmental impact.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus).
- Experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines and sustainability goals are met.
- A strong commitment to environmental sustainability and a keen interest in improving urban mobility.
