Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an Ethical Sourcing & Procurement Manager for F&B Sustainability in Hong Kong to lead the development and execution of sourcing and procurement strategies within the food and beverage sector. This role ensures that sourcing practices align with the company’s sustainability objectives, ethical guidelines, and industry best practices. The manager will collaborate closely with internal teams to define and integrate sustainability goals into procurement processes. In addition, they will work with external suppliers and stakeholders to drive sustainable procurement, minimize environmental impact, and promote social responsibility across the supply chain. By leveraging industry knowledge and building strong partnerships, this role is crucial in advancing the company’s sustainability initiatives while upholding the highest ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement ethical sourcing strategies to support the company’s sustainability objectives, ensuring all suppliers meet defined environmental, ethical, and social criteria. In addition, build strong relationships with suppliers to maintain these standards.

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while identifying new sustainable suppliers for various F&B product categories. Additionally, conduct supplier assessments, audits, and compliance checks to uphold ethical and sustainable practices.

Oversee the procurement process, from identifying sourcing opportunities to contract negotiation and purchase order execution. Moreover, ensure adherence to sustainability practices and ethical standards throughout the supply chain.

Track and report on key sustainability metrics related to sourcing and procurement. Then, regularly analyze performance data, identify areas for improvement, and communicate findings to senior leadership.

Ensure compliance with relevant local and international sustainability standards, including certifications such as Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, and organic sourcing, all in alignment with company policies.

Stay informed about the latest trends, regulations, and innovations within the food and beverage sustainability space. Then, apply this knowledge to enhance sourcing strategies and continuously improve sustainability practices.

Work closely with marketing, quality control, R&D, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on sourcing and sustainability goals. Furthermore, advocate for sustainable practices both within the company and across the broader F&B industry.

Develop and implement training programs to educate internal teams and suppliers on sustainable sourcing practices and ethical procurement, fostering a culture of responsibility and sustainability.

Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks related to environmental or social issues. Additionally, develop contingency plans to address any supply disruptions or sustainability challenges.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in ethical sourcing, procurement, or sustainability management within the food and beverage industry.
- Strong understanding of sustainable procurement practices and ethical sourcing standards.
- Proven track record of driving sustainability initiatives within supply chains, preferably in the food and beverage sector.
- In-depth knowledge of ethical sourcing, sustainability certifications, and relevant regulations in Hong Kong and internationally.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in procurement software, data analysis, and sustainability reporting tools.
- Fluency in English (Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus).
