Job Overview:
The Sustainable Procurement Officer will actively support the organization’s efforts to align procurement practices with its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives. In this capacity, the role involves working closely with internal teams and suppliers to integrate sustainability criteria into sourcing decisions, while also ensuring compliance with local and regional standards.
Located in Hong Kong, the Sustainable Procurement Officer position contributes to the development of responsible supply chain practices that are not only practical and measurable, but also aligned with the company’s broader sustainability goals.
About the Role:
As part of the Procurement or Sustainability team, the Sustainable Procurement Officer will:
- Support the implementation of sustainable procurement policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect key environmental and social considerations.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to embed sustainability into product and service specifications, supplier selection processes, and contract management.
- Carry out supplier assessments and ESG risk reviews, including due diligence and sustainability performance data collection.
- Engage in supplier development initiatives that promote improvements in sustainability practices and alignment with company standards.
- Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and international frameworks to inform your procurement strategies.
- Contribute toward the preparation of reports and documentation for internal tracking, audits, and external sustainability disclosures.
- Take part in training and awareness programs to help build internal understanding of sustainable procurement principles across departments.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in procurement or sustainability-related roles, preferably with exposure to supplier management or ESG integration.
- Knowledge of sustainable procurement frameworks, supply chain compliance, and local Hong Kong regulations is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) is an advantage.
